Wilma Picklesimer Enloe
Wilma P. Enloe, 90, passed away February 7, 2013 after a period of declining health.
She was well-known in Brevard and Transylvania County as a dedicated educator. Mrs. Enloe was the daughter of the late Carmel L. Picklesimer and Ila Lee Lyday.
A beloved educator, she was educated in the local schools and graduated from Brevard High, Brevard College, and Western Carolina with a degree in Primary Education. She taught in the schools of Henderson, Rowan, McDowell and Transylvania counties for 38 years.
She is fondly remembered by the many children who were privileged to be students in her classroom. Her dedication was honored in 1976 when she was voted Teacher of the Year.
She was a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Enloe will be held at Moore Funeral Home, Saturday, February 9, 2013; at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ray Talley officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
Left to celebrate her memory are Roland H. Enloe, her husband of 66 years, daughter Marguerite and husband Evan Flynn, daughter Kay and husband Jimmy Stanley, a grandson Bradley Green and wife Alicia, a granddaughter Kristen McCaskill and husband Robert, a grandson Corey Stanley and wife Sylvia, a granddaughter Stephanie and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, 494 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC or the Baptist Children's Home of NC, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC.
