Wilma R. Patterson

Wilma Rebecca Patterson, 82, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. A native of Brevard, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Della Hubbard Patterson.in addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta Gallimore and Thelma Patterson Moody, her brother, Howard “Bear Dog” Patterson, and her granddaughter, Lea Whitmire.

She was a Certified Nursing Assistant who loved to care for others. She was a loving and giving woman who was a “best friend” to many, especially her children and grandchildren who called her “Granny Spunk.” She had a great laugh and loved to have fun. Reading and listening to music, old country music, were among her favorite things to do.

Her loving survivors include her children: Richard Whitmire, Rebecca Whitmire, Tim Whitmire, Christopher Daves (Ann), and Amy Daves (Phillip Galloway); grandchildren: Erik Whitmire (Jessy), Tamara Mel (Saturday), Melissa Jones (Nathan), Sara Kersey, Jesse Bullock (Megan), Courtney Whitmire, Christopher Daves and Elizabeth Daves and several great-grandchildren and her brother, Channing Hubbard (Elaine).

Funeral Services for Wilma Patterson will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Big Hill Cemetery.
